The role will be primarily based at London Victoria. There might also be the occasional possibility of meetings with business stakeholders in Milton Keynes, Holborn or Coventry depending on your assignments. You'll be supporting the UI Design Lead.

Work alongside a User Experience designer create the visual experience of the inspirational experiences at Argos
This role will suit a designer with experience and would enjoy the opportunity to create compelling visual experiences for the third most visited retail site in the country
Creating designs that are scalable and work across multiple devices and screen sizes, so customers can continue to shop “When they want, wherever they want” having access the most helpful shopping experience whatever device they use
Good approach to UI design which is inspiring, simple and attractive
Enjoy testing designs and refining to create the best possible experience and be comfortable testing early ideas with customers in our lab or remotely
Encourage collaboration with other UI designers in the UX team to create a consistent look and feel across multiple projects
Being involved in all stages, conceptualizing and guiding stakeholders through ideas. Translate wireframes, develop prototypes and create UI Specifications
Working with other brands and people outside of Argos
Being organised in managing designs and communicating with people on your progress
Educate and advise the BAU team on how to create assets based on your UI style guidelines
Present designs to the UX, project teams and stakeholders
Strong knowledge of scalable designs and UI frameworksHave strong proficiency using design tools Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS, etc.
Proficient in using prototyping and animation software such as After Effects / Principle / Proto - or a willingness to learn
Formal Design/digital design qualifications
What you bring with you
We need you to provide a portfolio of work that demonstrates your ability to deliver a first-class UI Design and User Centered thinking.
Experience designing user interfaces, large scale responsive websites and/or applications for mobile platforms such as iOS and Android.
Degree in design, architecture, HCI or related discipline.
Demonstrable portfolio designing for complex digital interfaces, with experience in creating and delivering UI kits, responsive websites, style guides and native mobile app designs and prototypes.
Strong analytical skills and capacity to think holistically.
Ability to synthesize data into coherent information design.
Desire to produce the best-in-class omni-channel customer experiences, regardless of complexity.
Full understanding of how to apply the methodologies of interaction design and research to software, web and mobile development.
Engaging presentation style as well as solid writing and visual communication skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other team members.
Experience in working in truly agile environments facilitated by tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
