About the Role:

Working as part of a team, you will manage your category area to deliver range targets & business objectives.
The role will help enable great Product selection within the department, which will primarily drive on line trading decisions and secondary for stores/concessions.
Supports the buyer in selecting and developing a compelling range targeted at the customer
Ensures on line product descriptions are correct and optimised for SEO and selling.
Use Optimizely and Google Analytics to understand and identify new opportunities and ensure that Habitat provides a best in class online experience
Manages the product and packaging Critical Path to ensure key dates across All OPCOS are delivered.
Develop key supplier relationships and manage supplier negotiations to maximise promotional/range opportunities
Supports the Buyer to deliver the Category strategic and financial plans.
Delivers ranging propositions in conjunction with the Buyer and Asst Merchandiser, working with a pre-defined strategy.
Understands and can explain market and consumer trends by monitoring competitor activity
Monitor and review range data, making recommendations for appropriate activity
Works closely with the Assistant Merchandiser to achieve stock targets & ensure availability
Supports and participates in cross functional projects – Argos, Sainsbury’s and Mini Habitats
Contributes to the supply base strategy
Skills & experience:
Experience of digital channel ranging & trading
Prior product development experience for a similar design led retailer.
Direct sourcing and rapid purchasing experience
Must possess commercial awareness of the market
Strong organisational skills
Deadline driven, must have a passion for driving results and the ability to work under pressure
Excellence in interpersonal skills, must be able to work effectively at all levels
Analytical and detail oriented.
Strong customer affinity, must be able to respond to customer need
